Terms of Use

Effective October 5, 2026 · Version française

These terms govern your use of the Lunchou app, operated by Marie-Charlotte Cantera, 2121 avenue Papineau, Montreal, Quebec H2K 0E6, Canada (“we”). By downloading or using Lunchou, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information.

1. The service

Lunchou offers lunch and snack ideas for children in kindergarten and elementary school, a weekly menu planner, hot and cold recipes, suggested portions and a grocery list. The content is provided for information, to help parents plan school lunches.

The app is intended for adults. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to subscribe.

2. Lunchou Family subscription

Plans and prices

Applicable taxes are extra. The exact price, including taxes, is shown by the App Store or Google Play before you confirm your purchase. A subscription covers the whole family on the Apple or Google account that bought it, under that store’s family sharing rules.

Free trial

New subscribers get a 3-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and the first payment is charged to your Apple or Google account. The free trial is offered once per account.

Automatic renewal

The subscription renews automatically for the same period and at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the period. If the price changes, Apple or Google will notify you and, where the law or their rules require it, ask for your consent before applying it.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time, at no cost, in your account settings:

Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period already paid for.

Refunds

Payments are collected by Apple or Google, which handle refund requests under their own policies: reportaproblem.apple.com for Apple and Google Play Help for Google. This section does not limit any rights you have under consumer protection laws where you live.

3. Allergies, health and food safety

Lunchou does not replace advice from a health professional. Recipes and menus are general suggestions. You remain responsible for what you serve your child.

4. Your use

You may use Lunchou for your personal and family needs. You agree not to copy, resell or redistribute the app’s content (recipes, text, images), not to try to bypass the subscription, and not to use the app unlawfully.

The information you enter (first names, photos, preferences) belongs to you and stays on your phone. Only add photos you have the right to use.

5. Intellectual property

The app, its name, logo, recipes, text and illustrations belong to us or are used with permission. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use for its duration. It does not transfer any ownership rights to you.

6. Availability and changes

We regularly add and update recipes and features. We make reasonable efforts to keep the app working well, but it may occasionally be interrupted, for example during an update or if the App Store or Google Play is unavailable.

If we stop offering Lunchou, we will notify you in the app and renewals will be stopped.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the app, including a reaction to a food when the precautions in section 3 were not followed. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow it, including under consumer protection laws that apply to you.

8. Apple and Google

These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google, which are not responsible for the app or its content. If you downloaded Lunchou from the App Store, Apple’s Standard License Agreement also applies; in case of conflict, these terms prevail to the extent permitted. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

9. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If a significant change affects your rights or the price, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before it applies. You may then cancel your subscription at no cost.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim before the courts of that place.
